Scaling in Relativistic Thomas–Fermi Approach for Nuclei
نویسنده
چکیده
By using the scaling method we derive the virial theorem for the relativistic mean field model of nuclei treated in the Thomas–Fermi approach. The Thomas–Fermi solutions statisfy the stability condition against scaling. We apply the formalism to study the excitation energy of the breathing mode in finite nuclei with several relativistic parameter sets of common use. PACS: 21.60.-n; 24.30.Cz; 21.30.Fe; 21.65.+f

Scaling Calculation of Isoscalar Giant Resonances in Relativistic Thomas–Fermi Theory
We derive analytical expressions for the excitation energy of the isoscalar giant monopole and quadrupole resonances in finite nuclei, by using the scaling method and the extended Thomas–Fermi approach to relativistic mean field theory. We study the ability of several non-linear σ − ω parameter sets of common use in reproducing the experimental data. For monopole oscillations the calculations a...
متن کاملSimplest Equation Method for nonlinear solitary waves in Thomas- Fermi plasmas
The Thomas-Fermi (TF) equation has proved to beuseful for the treatment of many physical phenomena. In this pa-per, the traveling wave solutions of the KdV equation is investi-gated by the simplest equation method. Also, the effect of differentparameters on these solitary waves is considered. The numericalresults is conformed the good accuracy of presented method.
متن کاملLiquid-gas phase transition in nuclei in the relativistic Thomas-Fermi theory
The equation of state (EOS) of finite nuclei is constructed in the relativistic Thomas-Fermi theory using the non-linear σ − ω − ρ model. The caloric curves are calculated by confining the nuclei in the freeze-out volume taken to be a sphere of size about 4 to 8 times the normal nuclear volume. The results obtained from the relativistic theory are not significantly different from those obtained...
متن کاملOn the Coulomb and higher - order sum rules in the relativistic Fermi gas
Two di erent methods for establishing a space-like Coulomb sum rule for the relativistic Fermi gas are compared. Both of them divide the charge response by a normalizing factor such that the reduced response thus obtained ful lls the sum rule at large momentum transfer. To determine the factor, in the rst approach one exploits the scaling property of the longitudinal response function, while in...
متن کاملMesonic and Binding Contributions to the Emc Effect in a Relativistic Many Body Approach
We revise the conventional nuclear effects of Fermi motion, binding and pionic effects in deep inelastic lepton scattering using a relativistic formalism for an interacting Fermi sea and the local density approximation to translate results from nuclear matter to finite nuclei. In addition we also consider effects from ρ-meson renormalization in the nucleus. The use of nucleon Green’s functions ...
